hello everyone

i went to the hospital last week and the nurse said the Rummy consultant, and I saw the nurse not him and my old nurse has now left and this new one i have been given i feel she is not like the one i feel she is not listening to you she read the leaflet on Hydroxychloroquine and then said she will see me againin 12 weeks and she would not do me a DAS score as she said my hands was too puffed up as my hands have always been like that and my other nurse always did it for me has my hands have always been puffy and she said if i have any problems to contact the help line.
A couple of questions for you all if you dont mind 1) has any one ever ask for a change off nurse and if so did you get one? 2) has anyone been on Hydroxychloroquine if so how did you get on with it ?

sorry to moan but it has left me feeling crap and normaly when i come away from the hospital i feel much bettter then this

hope you are all good

Audrey

Hello Audrey, I have been on Hydroxy for a long time now. I was given it as an addition to the Methetrexate to help with the fatige and I did get some improvement with it. It is usual that I would see the Rhuemy nurse to get the details sorted out and for the consultant to prescribe it. I've changed nurses once before without any problems and I am having another change now.and I hope it goes as well. We do get very attached to the nurses don't we. They are so much easier to talk to I think.Glenys.

hi audrey
i have been on hydroch for over 12 months and it seems to be the only drug i can tolerate ....have had gold, methatrexate and cant remember the others but all with different reactions . not sure what they gonna give me next as they say all the others that come next need to b taken along side of methatrxate .at moment they just leaving me on hydro ..... as for changing nurses u have a number for help .i suggest ringing it and just saying politely how u feel .. i did that last year when i felt i was just pushed along and not listened too..... i got a lovely call back apologising and have had no complaints since,,,,,,,, everyone has bad days maybe your nurse had one ....... hope this helps ann xxxxSmile

Hi Audrey,

I have been on Hydrox for almost 4 years, and have never had a problem with it. It was taken in a combination therapy and I have been very lucky for it to have worked for me. I do hope you are ok on this drug, try to be positive I think this really does help.

Take care Lorna x Smile
